How to register and manage your horses

Register a horse

Click the Virtuaalihevoset (sim-game horses) link in the header. That takes you to the main page of the VRL registry where you can search horses that are already registered (VH-ID, registered name, breed, gender etc.).

Click the Hevosten rekisteröinti (register a horse) link in the sidebar on the left to open the registration form. Please note that all of the boxes marked with an asterisk (*) must be filled in order to register a horse successfully.

Mandatory info

  1. Nimi (name) is your horses whole official name including the breeder’s prefix, suffix etc.
  2. Sukupuoli (gender), choose your horses gender
  3. Rotu (breed), choose your horses breed in the dropdown
  4. Syntymäaika (date of birth), add your horses date of birth in DD-MM-YYYY format
  5. Hevosen sivujen osoite (horse’s page url), add your horses page url with http

Registering a deceased horse?

You can also register horses that have already been deceased.

  1. Tick the Kuollut (deceased) box if your horse has already died. Kuolinpäivä (date of death) can be filled out. DD-MM-YYYY.

Now you’ve filled all of the mandatory information in order to register your horse and rest of the information is optional.

Lisätiedot (Additional information)

  1. Säkäkorkeus (height in cm). This must be filled if you want to compete in Finnish leveled competition. This info can be edited later if needed
  2. Väri (coat color). This info can be edited later if needed
  3. Syntymämaa (country of birth). This info can’t be edited later!
  4. Kotitalli (current stable / home stable). You can add your own stable here as the horses current stable

Pedigree and breeder information

The pedigree and breeder info should be left empty if the horses parents (dam or/and sire) and/or breeder aren’t registered at VRL. E.g. a imported (created) horse does not have a breeder.

Please always check what information the Finnish breeder wants to be used when registering a SIM-horse bred by a Finnish simmer. Some breeder’s want just their VRL-ID added as the breeder info and some want the stable-ID and VRL-ID added.

  1. Kasvattajanimi (prefix or suffix)
  2. Kasvattajatalli (breeder's stable), add the breeder's stable-ID
  3. Kasvattajan VRL-tunnus (breeder’s VRL-ID)
  4. Isän rekisterinumero (sire’s registration number aka VH-number)
  5. Emän rekisterinumero (dam’s registration number aka VH-number)

Competition information

Rest of the registration form fields are for levelled competitions. Levelled competitions are semi-automated competitions for registered horses where the horse moves up on training levels based on their success in the competitions. By semi-automated we mean creating levelled competitions and entering your horses is very easy (just fill a form and hit send) and the results are automatically calculated and scores added to the horses.

What if I made a mistake?

No worries! If you notice mistakes after registering a horse, go to horse's VH-profile page and click the edit button after his name and VH-id (pen icon). This allows you to edit certain information, e.g. link, aging, or competition info. You can also add new information here.
